Excited at the prospect of livestream shopping, NBCUniversal tasked our team with developing a strategy around combining talent, IP, and commerce to create a can’t miss engaging experience.
Objective
Drive viewership for NBCU’s first livestream shoppable social shows on Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, and Cyber Monday across Instagram, Facebook, Xfinity, and Peacock.
Strategy
Our lead host talent, Remi Bader, was brought in to tap into a younger audience and pair up with a cast of Bravolebrities to capture our rapid fandom. We then leaned into the powerful multimillion followings of Bravo and E! to post promotional materials in the weeks leading up and host our live events. Additional spots on live TV during the Thanksgiving Day dog show and in commercial time on Bravo, E!, NBC etc. generated a strong push for viewership and our partnering brands.
Successes
Impulse Try was a first of its kind: a major livestream shopping experience to leverage NBCUniversal’s new commerce capabilities. Within a 3 day window ahead of the event, our marketing efforts reached over 7 million and garnered tens of thousands of reactions across social platforms. Viewership was consistent across all three days, averaging a stable threshold over a thousand throughout the full 30 minute live program.
